God…Is He Sexy?
God! Is He sexy…she said of a creation walking down the street.
Who said the Creator is not sexy?
Who?
The Creator was out creating things, that is sexy…you know, Creation.
My experience with Creation is that I can have an intense physical attraction to another human being. I want to be close to them. As close as possible.
Physical attraction, there is a primal chemistry, but it is a trick of nature, chemicals to create pair bonding. What a lovely idea. Who is nature?
Can we even admit the Creator is sensual?
Who said the Creator doesn’t dance the tango, and laugh and sing? The Creator invented that stuff. What is the issue?
Even in the most impoverished corners of the world that chemistry, even beyond reason, brings forth…life. That is fairly creative, don’t you think?
And there always seems to be the need to dance and sing, at least when we are young. What is that about?
Why do I like to dance? Why is holding another person so satisfying?
I like it.
What is so complicated?
An argument might be made that sensuality is what being human is all about. Senses, sensing.
There are huge eternities without a body. That very rarity suggests we cherish what we have while we have it, don’t you think?
For reasons not based on feelings, we choose to create a description of reality that does not seem to include compassion as the foundation. Compassion for imperfection.
Love, what is that about? Who invented that? What is this Mother Nature stuff? The profundity of living things found all around us. What a great idea. Endless variation and adaptation, a continuing process of re-Creation. Fun.
What can reconcile our biology with our minds?
Comfort, peace, contentment. Looking into the eyes of our newborns. Feeling the innocent love of a child. Having desire for another. Is it love when these human things induce our hearts closer into our throats? It seems healthy that something does.
Call it what you will. It feels natural, and it can be very nice to be held; to embrace, also nice.
